Ways to work together

Ways to work with 3D art

  • 3D chalk art at festivalsGalaxy in a Hole on Howard Street in Chicago, Goldfish at the Kansas City Chalk Walk, and the Heart of Albany for the Albany Museum of Art.
  • Brand and venue photo momentsPieces made for a client’s guests, such as Greystone Power’s annual member meeting and the Falcons at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
  • Painted illusionsForced-perspective scenes painted on panels, like the Music Midtown mural and the Decatur Arts Festival lilies. Explore Interactive Backdrops.

Process and planning

How the illusion works

3D art is drawn stretched, so the image only lines up from one camera spot. For Music Midtown, I designed the scene first and then stretched it into forced perspective before painting.

People become part of the piece. At Greystone Power’s member meeting, participants posed as linemen or as little birds on the line. On Howard Street, floating debris and meteors were the perfect things to stand on, and there was quite a big line of people experiencing the art.

Space depends on the design: the Greystone Power piece was over 40 feet long. Tell me about your location when you reach out.
