What I do

Interactive Backdrops

Hand-painted scenes and photo opportunities that make guests part of the artwork.

An interactive backdrop creates a scene for guests to pose inside of and share on social media. At Music Midtown, there was even a long line of excited festival goers posing with our mural.

Ways to work together

Ways to bring a backdrop to your event

  • Hand-painted photo scenesScenes designed around your event, like the Music Midtown mural that put guests inside the festival in the park.
  • Panel backdropsDesigns painted on panels and assembled on site; the Music Midtown mural used four 4′×8′ panels.
  • 4D illusion backdropsFor the Decatur Arts Festival, we painted the panels in our studio and mapped them to line up into one seamless image.
  • Temporary walls and surfacesDon’t have a surface to chalk or paint on? That’s ok! Ask about temporary walls and surfaces. I can build or install something custom for your project.

Process and planning

Design process

For Music Midtown, I used the festival branding to design a mural that simulated standing in the park at the festival. Once the mural was approved, I stretched the image into forced perspective.

The work was split into two teams: one applied the design to the panels, and a team of artists painted it.
